Volunteer at HCH
Volunteers make a difference: In addition to the hard work of more than 130 paid staff, the mission of Health Care for the Homeless is advanced by a dedicated group of volunteers. Whether serving in a leadership capacity, organizing our annual fund raising event, greeting clients at the front desk, advancing our policy work, or assisting with administrative tasks, volunteers enrich our work.
How can I volunteer? Please fill out our volunteer application form and e-mail or fax it to Ed Geraty (geraty@hchmd.org). Once your application is received, it will be kept on file. When a need arises meeting your experience and skills, you will be contacted for an interview.

Opportunties to Volunteer:
- Clinical volunteers: Many prospective volunteers are interested in opportunities to work directly with clients in a clinical or outreach capacity. These opportunities are extremely limited and require that you carry your own individual liability insurance.
- Physician opportunities: If you are a practicing physician licensed in Maryland with medical liability insurance, there may be ways you can help. HCH particularly need subspecialists willing to see our clients on a limited basis in their private practices.
- Chocolate Matters: We always need dedicated volunteers to help with fundraising, especially to help organize our annual fundraising event, The Chocolate Affair. To apply to volunteer for the event, please visit www.chocolateaffair.org or click here.
- Other ways to help HCH: HCH values our work with a range of entrepreneurial volunteers who organize events, collect personal care items, or start their own fundraising drives to benefit HCH.
