2016 Chocolate: Success!

02.08.16

The 2016 Chocolate Affair on Saturday, February 6, was a rousing success: Great fun was had by all 800-plus guests who, through  their extraordinary generosity, raised more funds to support our neighbors without homes than any other Chocolate Affair in past years: a tidy sum of $500,000 that will support our new clinic in West Baltimore.

Thank you to all who came, and who helped make this wonderful annual event possible! See our Facebook photo gallery.

Together, here's how we did it:

  • Through the  commitment of our event sponsors, table sponsors, in-kind and media sponsors and volunteers.
  • Through the talents of the local chefs, restaurants and caterers who created our chocolate hors d'oeuvre and desserts.
  • Through the generous spirit of our guests, with their ticket purchases and Fund-A-Need gifts.
  • And through CareFirst, which initially posed a $100,000 challenge match for the Fund-A-Need, only to up that to the total Fund-A-Need amount raised: $140,000.

Thanks to our fabulous Health Care for the Homeless and Chocolate Affair communities, we will provide our West Baltimore neighbors with the health care and supportive services they need to move toward better health and stability.

Bravo!
