04.19.21
When: Monday, April 19, 5-6:30 p.m.
Where: Zoom, Register
What: Join Daniel Thursz's Social Justice Lecture, Eperts on Our Experience: The Missing Links to Deeper Change, sponsered by The Institution for Innovation & Implementation, Homeless Persons Representation Project, Inc. and University of Maryland School of Social Work for an interactive panel discussion about how young leaders are working to address youth homelessness in Maryland. The expertise and leadership of youth with lived experience of homelessness is necessary to address root causes of the problem and develop effective interventions, yet youth leaders too often are not involved in decision-making in a meaningful way. The discussion explores strategies for equitable collaboration between youth and systems leaders, services providers, and advocates in these efforts. Panelists Desiree Jefferson, Christopher Sikalis, Klause Ferrell, Lolah J and HPRP’s Ingrid Lofgren are young leaders who have experienced housing instability and an older adult advocate for solutions to homelessness.
