"My new position affords me the opportunity to fully support our agency in ushering in a race equity culture for the Health Care for Homeless community as a whole – including our clients, staff members, and Board of Directors alike. Although this work will serve as a multiyear endeavor and requires daily learning and growth, we as an agency have a responsibility to lean into this work as it will contribute to improving the life outcomes of not only clients, but also of our stakeholders connected to the work. The road will be challenging, however, 'if there is no struggle, there is no progress…Power concedes nothing without a demand. It never did and it never will (Frederick Douglass, 1857).'"
