Last summer, Hotel RL hired a photographer to capture images of homelessness in Baltimore. The hotel featured the images on a temporary website it created to raise funds for Health Care for the Homeless, as part of its new hotel launch here. It was a new company in town and a provider of shelter, and as a gesture of support for its new city, Hotel RL wanted to bring attention to the issue of shelter—and those who don't have it. We were grateful for the interest and support. But we also thought the photographer’s images should be accompanied by images captured by those who actually know and experience homelessness first hand. It’s a bit of a different lens.
