Help make Maryland safe for trans people

One in five trans individuals and 41% of Black transgender people have experienced homelessness. We're committed to providing LGBTQ+ affirming care and advocating for trans people’s access to medical care in Maryland. That's why it's one of our legislative priorities this year before the Maryland General Assembly.

The Trans Health Equity Act has now passed through both chambers, an exciting milestone that will expand Maryland Medicaid coverage of gender-affirming care! You can continue to show your support as the Senate and House reconcile their versions of the bill before it makes its way to Governor Moore's desk. Follow the advocates who made this effort possible, including the Trans Rights Advocacy Coalition, Free State Justice, and Baltimore Safe Haven

Director of Public Policy, Joanna Diamond can answer any specific questions about the bill and next steps.
