After a few years' hiatus, we were thrilled to have Women’s Health Day back at 421 Fallsway—with an afternoon full of health education, crafts, and community. Attendees took turns sharing stories about those they had lost to cancer, and decompressed through a guided yoga session and table crafts like mason jar herb gardens and scented rice heating pads. One participant spoke about how important it is to engage the senses while you're healing through trauma; "scent can be so important," especially for people who have experienced homelessness or shelter housing, and who may have had to live with inadequate access to hygiene.
A big thank you to our guest speaker Jordan Diacumakos from Aetna, who spoke on disease prevention and healthy living, as well as all of the staff and volunteers who made this possible. Check out photos from the day!
