National Indigenous People's Day 2024

10.07.24

On October 14, 2024, the United States will celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day.

Although it is not yet a national holiday it has been recognized by the president since 2021 and 17 states — including Washington, South Dakota, Maine, and Washington, D.C., have holidays honoring Native Americans as early as 1990. The Indigenous Peoples' Day Act, which was reintroduced to Congress on October 2, 2023, proposes for the second Monday of October to be designated as Indigenous Peoples' Day nationwide. Explore a few ways you can commemorate Indigenous Peoples Day in 2024 below.
