The flu can lead to serious health complications. It can even be deadly. And this year’s flu is one of the most harmful in years. What's worse, February is the peak month for the flu. 39 states—including Maryland—are experiencing "high" flu activity.
The flu can be especially harmful to people experiencing homelessness, whose unstable living conditions and chronic illness can increase the likelihood of flu-related complications. But don't worry: it's not too late to get a flu shot! Here at Health Care for the Homeless, the flu vaccine is easily administered and has the potential to save lives.
Are you a client or do you know a client that needs a flu shot? Stop by the 1st-floor lobby at 421 Fallsway from 9-11 a.m. any Wednesday to get a shot, or simply ask a provider during a visit.
