Here's a quick look at our work through the first quarter of 2022:
4,581 people have connected to care, across 15,676 visits with trusted providers
667 COVID vaccines and 319 booster doses have been safely administered
5,980 people received trusted care via telehealth
As a society, we make assumptions about the causes of health disparities in our communities. We surveyed Hispanic/Latinx clients to understand why they are 57% more likely to have uncontrolled diabetes than the average client.
Here are a few of the most persistent barriers they reported:
Respondents were clear: 88% know how to manage their diabetes, but can’t access what they need to thrive. The results of this survey will guide a new, tailored care plan that addresses these challenges in the community.
During the 2022 Maryland General Assembly, staff like Dr. Parita Patel advocated for full adult dental coverage under Medicaid.
This session, we also advocated for trans care equity, prenatal coverage for the uninsured and the decriminalization of drug paraphernalia. Follow the outcomes of our 2022 Legislative Agenda.
Guided by feedback from those we serve, we meet urgent needs in the community—with medication co-pays, transportation support, and healthy food, ready to go.
Already this year, more than 200 people have connected to the emergency food pantry in our downtown clinic.
This fall, 70 people will turn the key to new homes in our first affordable housing development, Sojourner Place at Oliver, located in East Baltimore.
