Performance improvement just got a new director!

09.12.17

Jen has been with Health Care for the Homeless for a few years but just recently took a new, exciting role as Director of Performance Improvement. And she’s stoked.

“Performance Improvement is about continuously learning from our actions with the goal of improving both day-to-day work and reducing health disparities,” she said. “I feel honored to serve in this new capacity for an organization whose mission and people I greatly admire.”

Jen joined Health Care for the Homeless two years ago as our Clinical Operations Project Manager with tons of performance improvement experience, both in the U.S. and abroad. She has worked at hospitals and community health centers and volunteered with Health Care for the Homeless in Boston, which helped steer her career path toward social justice issues within health care.

She also worked in post-Hurricane Katrina Mississippi and New Orleans coordinating volunteer work for disaster relief missions, and then as an Operations Manager in Haiti with an organization focused on building public health system capacity. She has certificates in Quality Improvement from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) and Improvement Coaching from The Dartmouth Institute.

Jen grew up in Maine, went to school in Boston and then moved to Baltimore three years ago to join her brother and parents. She loves being in the same area as her family and the mild Maryland winters, but misses eating lobster and watching Boston sports teams (we’ll convert her to Baltimore teams soon enough!).

Jen lives in Fed Hill with her dog Finnegan and her fiancé.
