"Attending the conference was excellent, as I met many people working diligently to fight against systems that create and uphold homelessness in our society. It was great hearing what other organizations have implemented and want to achieve. The presentation provided an opportunity to discuss the importance of building client compensation policies in organizations that honor the expertise of those with lived experience."
"I was thrilled to co-present a session called "Countering Nonprofit Exploitation: A Call for Client Compensation" with my former colleague Malcolm Williams, LCSW-C and HCH Board Member Mark Council. Leaders: Use your creativity and persistence to identify and implement (new & different) equitable practices. Get grounded in your values and figure out the way forward to a more just community. You got this!"
Presented by Kevin Lindamood and Lawanda Williams
"I was honored to attend this year's conference with more than 1,100 people from every state in the country working and advocating at the intersections of health, homelessness and housing! Baltimore was well represented by our colleagues as we find solidarity in the challenges and opportunities we’re facing – and inspiration for the work ahead. We’re excited to host the conference in Baltimore next year. (And I just learned it’ll be in our city in 2027, too.)"

"Accountability does not have to be scary…Self accountability is a building block to solidarity with mistreated and marginalized communities."
