On Monday, July 15, the Mayor’s Office of Homeless Services hosted a press conference to highlight the success of the Assistance in Community Integration Services (ACIS) program - and to celebrate the program's inclusion in the FY25 state budget. President & CEO Kevin Lindamood was in attendance along with other city and state leaders, including hospital partners who were crucial to funding the local match required during the pilot period.
For the last six years, Health Care for the Homeless served as Baltimore's ACIS service provider, delivering on-site, wrap-around care and support for hundreds of people and families experiencing homelessness as they moved into and maintained permanent, supportive housing. Thanks to the work of our dedicated Supportive Housing team, this amazing public-private partnership went from 100 to 300 households and pilot to program in just six year:
"Though homelessness can appear complex, the solutions are surprisingly simple: affordable housing coupled with the supportive services we all need to find housing and keep it.The Medicaid supportive housing waiver provides a sustainable funding source for the intensive, wrap-around services needed to support the most vulnerable members of our community in permanent housing." - President & CEO Kevin Lindamood
